Proven test steps from space applications and military technology are used. The engineers at Teledyne Storm Microwave focused on the movement sequence when connecting the DUT multiple times to the network analyzer.

The result is a particularly long-lasting, precise test & measurement connection cable with an average bending life of at least 25,000 bends.

With its “Omega Tester”, Teledyne Storm has demonstrated the extremely long service life of DuraTest during the development phase of the cable, both mechanically (>25,000 cycles) and electrically (insertion and reflection parameters).

Teledyne Storm developed a test and test procedure to simulate the everyday situation of cables in a test machine developed for this purpose. With the Voice of the Customer program, many test houses in North America and Europe were visited. The test is described as follows:

1. Fixation of the cable ends
2. Cables get a 30 degree bending gradius to the right, then 30 degrees to the left.
3. Cables form a natural radius of curvature according to the most common bending scenario.
4. Test cycles are carried out up to the electrical fault (as defined by VSWR or insert attenuation outside the specified parameters).
